Cub Leader Specific Training -- Saturday 2/13/10 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Specific Training for Cub leaders and parents. Separate sessions for Den Leader(Wolf/Bear), Tiger, Webelos, Cub Committee Member and Cub Master.

Webelos Transition Training -- Saturday 2/13/10 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Moving from the Cub Scout program to the Boy Scout program is a critical step in a program. For leaders and parents wtih Webelos scouts.

Troop Committee Training -- Saturday 2/13/10 1:00 - 4:00 pm. This course covers roles and responsibilities of each troop committee member. It is an ideal team-building experience for the whole committee.

Scouting for Food -- Is only 3 days away, several areas are still available. Pick up bags directly from the front porch of Nancy and Darryl's home located at 4637 Hallmark Drive, Dallas, Texas 75229. Camporee -- Weekend, 3/5-7/10, Camp Cherokee. Troops, Crews and Webelos II Dens. Attend Camporee to compete, learn, win, and have fun. Detailed information now available. Staff meetings, Thursdays: 2/4/10, 2/11/10, 2/18/10 and 2/25/10.

North Trail in the News -- Scouts recognized for Heroism at annual awards dinner; Volunteers recognized for contributions to Boy Scouts at District Awards dinner; Pack 19 donates blankets to the homeless; Troop 1199 conquers Palo Duro.

Cub Scout Roundtable -- Thursday 2/11/10 at 7:00pm. Program: Take Flight.

Boy Scout Roundtable -- Tuesday 2/9/10 at 7:30pm. Program: Author David Scott will speak. Camporee Information available.

Venturing Forum, -- 2/16/2010 7:30 p.m., Room 210 FUMC Richardson. Crew Advisers, officers, members and parents invited.

Venturing Leader Specific Training -- Two evenings 3/10 and 3/17 - FUMC Richardson, Room 203

Boy Scout Leader Specific -- 3 evening course Wednesdays 3/10/10, 3/24/10 & 3/31/10 7:00 - 9:45pm. For adult leaders in Boy Scout units. Leaders who work directly with boys in a unit should attend. This is Scouting (available online) is a prerequisite.

Venturing Outdoor Leader Skills -- Weekend 3/26-3/28 - Camp Meisenbach

Boy Scout Outdoor Leader Skills -- Weekend 4/9-11/2010 Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. Outdoor Leader Skills Training, Boy Scouts Part 2 (Campout). Learn by being a part of an actual scout troop. Excellent training and a lot of fun. This is Scouting (available online) is a prerequisite.

Powder Horn -- Two weekends 3/12/10 and 3/26/10 High Adventure Skills Resource Course, Two locations will be used; 3/12/10 at Camp Wisdom and 3/26/10 at Camp Cherokee.

Woodbadge Training 2010/2011 -- Advanced leadership training for adult scouters. This experience will have a profound impact on your life both in and out of scouting.

Cub Scouts:

Arrow of Light Ceremonies -- Schedule Order of the Arrow members for ceremony in full regalia.

Boy Scouts:

Yanush Chapter Meeting -- Tuesday, February 9th, 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm First United Methodist Church of Richardson.

Oak Leaf Leadership Training -- Saturday & Sunday Mar. 27-28, 2010, Oak Leaf is a junior leader training course designed to supplement Troop level training. It is for Boy Scout youth, First Class Rank or above who will be serving in a leadership capacity within their Troop. Sign-up on-line now!

Aggie Eagle Program -- February 26–27, 2010. College bound Eagle Scouts or candidates, check this out.

OA Elections Request / Register for the 2010 elections. This cycle runs from December 1, 2009 through April 1, 2010.

General:

District Committee -- meeting, Tuesday 3/2/10 at 7:15pm. Room 205, FUMC Richardson.

Unit Commissioners -- meeting, Thursday 3/4/10. 7:30PM. RISD Admin Building, Richardson.

Scout Sunday/Sabbath -- A scout is reverent. Scout Sunday falls on February 7th this year and Scout Sabbath falls on February 13th. The exact date varies among various traditions. Consider scheduling an activity with your faith community.

2010 Richardson Trash Bash -- Saturday 4/3/2010, 9 a.m. - Noon. Get your unit involved in this community service project and has some fun too.

District Awards Banquet Summary -- For those who missed the Banquet, here is a summary of the event.

Scout Trailers -- Have you lost your troop trailer? Worried you might? Thanks to the lobbying efforts of Stephen Carpenter and others, some time in 2010 the HEAT program will be available for trailers.

Good Turn For America -- National call for service.

Uniform Closet -- North Trail District has a "clothes closet" for "gently used and experienced" uniforms and other scouting materials. These items are available to scouts who need them.

Welcome Home a Hero Today -- Everyday, Soldiers return from overseas at DFW airport, help show your support and welcome these men and women home.

Email Newsletter -- Don't believe the myth that the newsletter is only for cubmasters and scoutmasters. The newsletter is intended for every adult in the district including parents. Don't miss out on an event because you heard about it too late. Sign up now.
