Den Chief Training

The Den Chief is a critical member of the Scouting Leadership Team. Den Chief Training is intended to build enthusiasm for the job and teach the skills the Den Chief will need to be successful. This training combines fun and enjoyment with an excellent character building experience. Participants will learn leadership, organization, how to work with adults to solve problems, and, most importantly, how to encourage and work with Cub Scouts while being a role model.

Who:

This training is open to all boy scouts and venturers that are presently serving as Den Chief or are interested in serving in the future. Leaders and parents are welcome to observe. Limited to the first 15 boys who sign up.

When:

Fall 2008, exact date has not been set.

Why:

The troop gets a boy trained to bring the Cub into scouting. The Cubs get a friend in the troop, usually their first Boy Scout friend. The Den Chief gets the pride and satisfaction of being trained. He also gets status he can use for rank advancement!
